Today was my last day in Sweden and I wanted to finish my trip in a special way. Being in Uppsala, I took the train to Arlanda Central Station to leave my backpack there and continue the journey to Stockholm. I was surprised to find that if you take a normal train to Arlanda Central Station, you need to pay a supplement fee of 120 sek at the airport. Well, I just wanted to leave my baggage, leave and return in the afternoon for the actual flight. Show I pay the fee two times?
I explained my situation at the airport and the person there was very nice and let me go and leave the backpack at some luggage storage without paying the fee, with the condition to return.
It took me actually around 15 minutes to find a locker that was free. I advise anybody who is leaving the bags at the airport to make some photos with the place where he/she left it, including some coordinates (Terminal, shops around etc). It took me around 20 minutes to find my bag when I returned because I didn’t take any photo and there are a lot of points.
For 24h you have to pay 40 sek and you will receive a coin that you must not lose. On the coin you have the number of the Terminal where you left the baggage. Terminal 5 is for example at Central Station, Terminals 2 and 3 are close to South.
So I left my backpack and returned to the Arlanda Central station, heading to Stockholm.
I did some research, if persons that use Interrail train tickets can use the Arlanda Express, a train that is very fast, you need only 20 minutes from Stockholm City Center. I couldn’t find the information on the Internet if I have to pay the supplement fee in case I come with Arlanda Express. It seems that the fee apply only if you use the normal train.
If you have Interrail ticket and you travel with Arlanda Express using one of your days, you don’t have to pay any ticket and any supplement fee.
