Yesterday I was at the Blue Lagoon. They sell it as being one of the 25 world wonders.
The place is interesting, but there are bad points that you should consider before visiting it: too overcrowded
water too cold for a too cold weather
no clear details (you have to ask even where you can find the silica mask …)
only one dry sauna and one wet sauna for everyone
the bracelets are so easy to lose (your baggage is secured as well with it)
too...
To visit the church is free, but if you want to see Reykjavik from above (with it’s mountains) you can go in the tower – the entrance is 900 isk.
Definitely one of my favorite places in the south of Iceland:Profile in the rocks – the guardian of the waterfall. You can enter inside the rocks, near the waterfall. I was not that curious … most probably you get very wet. It was cold so I preferred to stay away.

A very touristy waterfall, but not that special from my point of view:
The only good thing about this waterfall, is that you can walk behind it.
What can be more refreshing than relaxing in a hot tube outside at +1 degree, in the snow, while it’s snowing? Perfect icelandic experience!

Today it was so cold, the east was so icy. The waterfalls, lakes completely frozen. The island deserves the name of Ice-land. But luckly no rain and no snow. Perfect for driving.
This harbor is so lonely first days of the year. I hope it will get to life next days.
But the sunset is something that I will never forget.
On the east coast now, driving back to Höfn (100 km), because we are going low on gas and the gas station close to us was offline. Hope to reach Höfn today with the remaining gas.
Update: Arrived in Höfn; the tank is almost empty. We were so lucky to not be stuck somewhere in Iceland without gas. Making the full now.
When we arrived in Höfn, we asked the owner of the Guesthouse what people in Iceland do for New Year’s Eve. They celebrate it with a bonfire. We decided to go there and have a big party with all the locals.Very important is the clothing, so we prepared very good with warm clothes and went to the bonfire.I personally expected that a lot of people will be on the street, dancing, singing and laughing. What happened, everybody took their...
