Great Glen Way – Stage 2

The walk today was 21 km in total, starting from the accommodation (so +1km).

First 1km was on the main road:

The next 4 km were amazing, there are a lot of lake views. The terrain was made of small stones. It was mud-proof, so I assume it is easy to walk also on heavy rain.

The walk continued with 3 km on main road.

The last part consists of 13 km on asphalted-path. This was very painful for the feet unfortunately.

But there were some nice views of the Loch Lochy.

The only place to eat something that I found was at the end of my day, at the Laggan Locks. There is a floating pub, very popular because it is the only one. They have nice food. But the very nice food has to be ordered in time. Anyway, I had a nice beer and ale at this place during my meal.

The accommodation for the night was the boat behind the floating pub. Very nice place to overnight!!

It was 30 Pounds for one room with 2 beds. It’s really cheap and I had everything I needed.

The elevation profile for today:

The climbs were easy and I had no issue going uphill. I just need to take out one blouse, I was maybe too overdressed.
