The train ride from Zürich to Lucerne is along the Zürich Lake and for 50 minutes you can have amazing views.The city itself is very touristic, especially the old city center. The mountains are everywhere to see, with white snow.

The stone wall that used to protect the city in the past is free and offers beautiful views over the city:
The lion monument is unfortunately in maintenance until January, but there is a platform to see it:
On the hill there are two castles that are used as hotel. Here you can have the best view over the city (they say) for 6 Fr. I preferred not to pay and have the view from other places, like the stone wall with its many free towers.
For 10 Fr you can visit the historical museum, but I was a bit disappointed, because I couldn’t find there the information about how this place became what is today. there were just some objects with too less text that described what that was.
