From my point of view, Kofu is very underrated. When I was asked during my trip where else I plan to go and beside other cities I mentioned also Kofu, people looked confused at me and asked “Why Kofu?”. I actually changed the plans that I had to spend 3 days in Kofu, by spending just two and one to go back to Tokyo. Two nights I think they are enough, but I absolutely have no regret for coming here. From my perspective, Kofu is much more beautiful than Takayama for example, which is very touristic. For me it’s good that there are not many tourists here, because I am alone in the hotel right now and I have a very local experience. But in Kofu you can see Mount Fuji from almost any street.
