Oslo

We arrived in Oslo two days ago. We were very afraid that we will not be able to enter the country from Germany and that our entire vacation will be destroyed, like the way the entire year 2020 was, but we did. The Norwegians have different way of living, keeping distance is here normal since forever. The mask wearing is a recommendation and few use it. We did, it cannot harm anyone.

The weather was both sunny and warm and sometimes it rained. We couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to have vacation this year, so we enjoy it, no matter the weather.

The city has one of the most interesting architecture I have ever seen. There are new and old buildings that are beautifully combined together and the result is astonishing. There are small art touches almost everywhere that make even the boring places a wonderful discovery for the eyes.

With T1 (Metro/Tram) we could get to Holmenkollenbakken (ski center). One way for a person was the metro ticket 3,5 euro (for 1 zone). From here we could have gone up in the tower for the ski jump. Unfortunately the waiting times were 50 minutes, so we decided to not do it. From up we could have done also Zip lining, but the prices for this were even higher and for sure the waiting times were around the same.

The food we had these days in Oslo were something special. Fish soups, grilled salmon, smoked shrimps, sushi… amazing food, great tastes.
