From Brixen we did a short trip by car to Lago di Braies. This place is incredibly beautiful and is part of the UNESCO heritage. To see the lake itself is for free, but the parking costs (P3 – closest to the lake – was at the beginning of June 7 euro). We did the hike around the lake in the clockwise direction, about 4 km. At the beginning it was a bit harder, but the second part was flat.
We arrived at the lake at about 9:45 on a Saturday and it was a bit crowded to get a parking spot, but we didn’t have to wait. When we left at about 12:30 there was a queue of 2 km and the newcomers were waiting for people to leave the parking lot to be able to park. I imagine a lot of waiting time for them.
