Not far away from Inverness is the cute small town Aviemore. By train I needed 45 minutes.
From here, multiple walks are possible, but I chose the one to Loch Eilein. 16 km in total, including walking around the lake.
On one island on the lake, there are the ruins of the Eilein Castle. The parking was 1,5 euro per adult, so it is cheaper and healthier to walk.
The weather was gorgeous today: a bit of rain and lots of sun.
