A beautiful island in the Stockholm’s Archipelago:
The ticket that you need from Stockholm to Vaxholm is for AB zone (54 sek), so you will pay 108 sek for the public transport. The tickets cannot be bought from the driver. I used the “SL – Journey planner and tickets application” to buy tickets on demand. The application is incredible easy to use, it’s in english and you can see a countdown with the availability of the ticket (75 minutes a normal ticket). For the payment you need to write a phone number (not necessarily swedish) and a credit card. Of course, you will need Internet connection, but I will write about it in anothe post, with all the details.
In the app you can buy multiple tickets if you are a group and the tickets can be used for buses, underground, trams. In the underground I noticed that there is no terminal to read the QR code from the application, but I showed the ticket to the person at the information desk and he opened the gates manually for me.
