Last 3 days were relaxed, I walked through the city, revisited places that I liked before, visited more temples. There are so many temples in Kyoto, unbelievable!
The Kinkaku Temple – recognizable thanks to the gold color. Unfortunately going inside the temple is now allowed.
Yesterday I hiked from Kibune to Kurama (both villages have a temple) and finished the day relaxing in an outside onsen at Kurama with view to the mountains.
Kurama is a mountain 40 minutes by train from Kyoto, with very beautiful views. It was one day after rain, so the path was a bit wet, but the air was very clean and it smelled like fresh forest.
The temple at Kibune:
The hike was very easy, around 40 minutes.
The Kurama temple:
I discovered another temple in Kyoto that I found very funny:
The colourful little pillows are used at this temple to write a wish on. Normally, there are wood plates in different forms, but at this temple it was different.
Another new place in Kyoto, but just for me, because I recognized this view from the internet pictures of Kyoto:
And some views in the afternoon late over Kyoto:
In Kyoto I had my first Ramen since I’m in Japan (I wanted a very local experience, not a touristic restaurant) and because I found the place that I imagined having Ramen, I stopped and entered. It was very small, just around 10 sits around the counter, where the owner prepared delicious Ramen for the customers.
Ohh … This was A-MAZ-ING!!! I was soo full and didn’t need anything else the entire day. The big Ramen and dumplings were under 10 euro.
Today was the last day in Kyoto. Tomorrow morning I will take an early train to Kanazawa.
The weather is getting chilly. If the first 3 weeks the temperatures were between 18-24 degrees (in November!!), now they are between 8-12. In a few days I will be in Takayama, where I actually expect snow. Everything is ok, but not rain!! 🙂
