Today I found a Lofoten soup to be cooked home in a shop. Because in the hostel room there’s a kitchenette, I decided to take one and cook it in the hostel; even if I have no plan to go to Lofoten Islands this trip, at least I will taste its flavor.
So while I was struggling to understand how the soup must be cooked, and because my norwegian is not excellent ( ☺️ ) I decided to consider the soup as being instant. So what does an instant soup need? Only boiled water, perfect.
An old norwegian guy that stays in the dormitory saw me how I boiled some water and I put it over the “instant” content for the soup.
He explained me that the soup must be cooked, he took a pot and a ladle, put some water in the pot, after that put the pot on the heater and he literally saved my meal for this evening. In the same time he explained me with a bad english each step of cooking a soup and showed me how to not burn the pot. During all this “training” I was actually speechless and I conformed to the procedure of cooking a soup.
There is good in the world; sometimes it’s needed go out of our comfort zone and give us the opportunity to meet people that are worthy. This kind of memories will make our old ages wonderful.
