Trondheim

I am here, can’t believe it. When I look on the map, and knowing how hard it is to travel during train strikes, I am impressed. By my own luck and strength to face the problems that come in my way.

So I am here:

I will not be able to travel to Bodo unfortunately and anyway I have no chance of seing the Aurora Borealis these remaining days. But lets be positive, this means I have a reason to visit Norway soon. Tromso and Lofoten Islands are on my soon-to-visit list.

Trondheim is not a touristic city and I think this is why I love this city more than Bergen, which is considered the most beautiful city in Norway or Europe as some people say. In Trondheim you still have the colored houses (as in Bergen) but you see the locals, their behavior, you love their habits and their sushi with cream (say what???).

There is a slightly change in the weather. Even if it’s sunny, the temperatures are lower. The low temperatures are actually not the reason why I feel I freeze, but the wind. It’s a slow wind, but so cold and unfriendly.

The cathedral in Trondheim can be compared with big domes in Europe (like Milano or Erfurt). I personally decided not to go in because I find for myself the price a little bit too high (90 nok, this means 9+ euro), but after taking a look on their website, I understood why the price is so high. They don’t receive from the government the amount of money needed to keep the cathedral in the current state, but only 60%. It is understandable, I still have one day to change my mind before I have to leave.
