Ice caves

I was worried, when I received an email from Extreme Iceland team one evening before the Ice Cave tour, warning us about the possibility of not being able to visit the ice cave because it was flooded (too much rain, high temperatures in last days). So I was really serious thinking to cancel the trip. It’s good that Celestine is more optimistic than I am and she said to give it a try.

The trip to the ice cave is full of adventure, 35 minutes in a huge jeep off road. The road was between lava stones, with dramatically ups and downs; it was great that I  didn’t drive the car, but being inside was so much fun.

When we arrived, first we mounted the crampons and put the helmets. The weather was great, sunny and cold, just perfect for the ice caves. So I had all my hopes that I will see the cave.

And there it was: blue, shiny, glamorous. The incredible beautiful ice cave.
