Hiking from Wernigerode to Bad Harzburg

The walk is about 26 km through Ilsenburg. Maybe it was not the best idea to do the hike after a long rainy day when the orange code was announced. First of all, early in the morning it would be muddy. And second, the trees were very unstable and I could see branches falling from the trees, some of them really huge. I was worried for my head… And climbing huge fallen trees was also not funny. But in the end I thought “Well if now it’s my time … well … at least I have a nice last view”. But I was lucky and nothing happened so I finished this very impressive hike.

Below it’s the route I followed (using Komoot):>
some photos during the walk:>The city Bad Harzburg is wonderful – it’s already on my short list with Must visit. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to spend some time here:>Just a perfect reason to come back …
