Yesterday I was at the Blue Lagoon. They sell it as being one of the 25 world wonders. The place is interesting, but there are bad points that you should consider before visiting it: too overcrowded water too cold for a too cold weather no clear details (you have to ask even where you can find the silica mask …) only one dry sauna and one wet sauna for everyone the bracelets are so easy to lose (your baggage is secured as well with it) too...

Gljúfrabúi

Definitely one of my favorite places in the south of Iceland:Profile in the rocks – the guardian of the waterfall. You can enter inside the rocks, near the waterfall. I was not that curious … most probably you get very wet. It was cold so I preferred to stay away. Yo can also climb the rocks, during the summer makes perfect sense. Climbing during the winter is I would say … challenging.

East fjords

Today it was so cold, the east was so icy. The waterfalls, lakes completely frozen. The island deserves the name of Ice-land.  But luckly no rain and no snow. Perfect for driving.

What happened, everybody took their...

In us, it awakened the survival instinct.During the Christmas everything was closed, from gas stations to fast food restaurant. Of course, the same happens on New Year’s Eve, especially in a small town like Höfn. We made some shopping a few days ago and bought some food, that we could cook.Today, thanks to Chef Celestine, we...

Ice caves

I was worried, when I received an email from Extreme Iceland team one evening before the Ice Cave tour, warning us about the possibility of not being able to visit the ice cave because it was flooded (too much rain, high temperatures in last days). So I was really serious thinking to cancel the trip. It’s good that Celestine is more optimistic than I am and she said to give it a try.The trip to the ice cave is full of adventure, 35 minutes...
